Company Profile:
BLG LOGISTICS GROUP stands for international, well-established networks in the business areas of automobile, contract and container logistics. The corporate group provides more than 15,000 jobs worldwide. Our services range from sea goods handling and warehousing to full supply chain management with integrated value-added services. Our clientele includes leading international companies from the automobile and automobile supplier industry, the electrical and electronics sector, the areas of consumer goods and furniture, as well as numerous shipping companies.
Over the last months we have been developing our business unit WindEnergy Logistics to the leading logistics provider within the Offshore Wind Industry. Therefore, we have designed and established new logistics processes for the transport, handling and storage of the heavy and very huge components for Offshore Wind Farms in order to reduce risks and making the supply chain much more efficient. With our supply chain knowledge we cover all processes from the manufacturer up to the hook of the installation vessel, including all needed documentation (method statements) and certification for investors, customs clearance etc.
We are already working for the leading manufacturers of wind turbines and components, as AREVA Wind, REpower, PowerBlades, Weserwind and others.

WindEnergy Logistics

What we offer:
BLG WindEnergy Logistics acts as a first mover in the area of logistics for offshore wind components. Today no other logistics service provider is able to offer this range of intelligent and complete logistics solutions. Current projects are e.g. handling of tripods for windfarm Global Tech I and Borkum West II/Trianel. For this purpose new logistics concepts have been developed by BLG. They consist of several components:

• a track system which extends to a port edge
• a pontoon with an identical track system on deck, a device which enables it to grip directly on the dock edge and a pump system which make sure that everything stays in the right place
• transfer and storage mounts which allow three flat mobile transporters, so called “Self-Propelled Modular Transporters” (SPMT) to pass through

A functioning process chain – from procurement, industrial series production, processes and transport, as well as (temporary) storage, all the way to the installation vessel has been put into practice by BLG.

What we are looking for:
We are looking for customers from the offshore wind industry who need extensive know-how and highly developed technology in the area of maritime and overland transport, engineering, port cargo handling, near-shore logistics, plant supply, customs clearance, logistics and consulting from a single source.

  • wind turbine manufacturers
  • wind turbine component suppliers

  • offshore

Collaboration sought:
  • Commercial alliance
  • Industrial alliance
  • Research, Technological alliance
